Jin-Xiang Yu
Jin-Xiang Yu (JX) grew up in Japan, speaks Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and English, and is a transplant from New York City.
She freelances as a versatile performer with a wide vocal range and a wide variety of styles, from being a film/TV/commercial actor, a voice actor, an operatic vocalist, to a musical theatre belter. She is passionate about a true commitment to character and authentic, honest storytelling.
She is the owner and instructor of voice, piano, acting, and audition techniques at Studio JX in Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and is dedicated to the artistic careers of her students, whom she takes great pride in.
JX holds a musical theatre degree with a dance focus (American Musical and Dramatic Academy), a bachelor of arts in linguistics (CUNY Queens College), a bachelor of music in vocal performance (CUNY Queens College/Aaron Copland School of Music), and a master of music in opera (Yale University/Yale School of Music). She is a mother of three and loves spicy food and volleyball.
She is thrilled and honored to be performing again in NOVA’s season this year.
