For its first Gallery Series concert of the 2018-19 season, NOVA Chamber Music Series takes a novel approach – cover nearly a millennium’s history of musical development in 75 minutes.
Royal Musings, its all-British offering, was a more than gratifying musical experience. There was an acute, wise and incisive take on each of the concert’s works.
The sextet bathed the hall in the full luminous potential of Verklärte Nacht. Adkins’ decision to conclude the first program of her season as NOVA’s music director was perfect as a point of artistic mission.

Curated by newly-appointed Music Director Madeline Adkins, NOVA’s 41st season showcases an incredible array of music, including works by ten women from six countries, a special focus on music by British composers and beloved classics.
