R/Evolution: December 9, 2018
Our first Gallery Series concert offers a chronological exploration of the musical revolutionary, from the mystical works of Medieval composer Hildegarde von Bingen, through Beethoven and Stravinsky, to 20th century pioneers such as Florence Price, the first African American woman to have her work performed by a major symphony orchestra.
Odyssey: March 10, 2019
This concert explores two important voices of contemporary music: Israeli- American composer Shulamit Ran and famed minimalist Steve Reich. Three works by Ran, including Lyre of Orpheus, will be followed by Reich's deeply moving Different Trains for String Quartet and Tape, written to commemorate victims of the Holocaust.
